The house that hosts Gran Bilì is a farmhouse dating back to the seventeenth century, inhabited by our family for generations.
It is divided into three floors: on the ground floor there are the cellars and the fireplace room. A staircase leads to the noble floor, overlooking a splendid loggia where the B&B is located, and on the third floor, the attic, an ancient barn, our family lives there.
The house is located in the historic center of Gussago, a stone's throw from the old church of San Lorenzo, the large square and the ancient Pieve. You enter through a large green door on via Marconi, one of many. Once inside, you are almost in the countryside. This is the detail that has always fascinated me about this house. The noise and the town itself are left outside and you can enjoy the peace of the garden, vineyard and orchard.
From the Loggia, to the right, you can admire the profile of Mount Barbisone and a keen eye will be able to glimpse one of the turrets of the Santissima. To the left, the old roofs of the town's houses and bell towers stand out, and then up, all the way to the Sanctuary of the Stella.
Breakfast at Gran Bilì is a special occasion designed to offer guests a pleasant and relaxing start to their day. The table will be elegantly set and ready to welcome guests, who can help themselves until 10 AM.
The breakfast selection includes a variety of options to satisfy all tastes: fresh seasonal fruit, fragrant bread, and a daily sweet treat such as a soft plum cake or other delicacies. Guests will also have access to a small refrigerator stocked with butter, artisanal jams, fruit juices, milk, and yogurt.
For those who prefer something warm, there will be facilities available to prepare hot milk, coffee, teas, and toast independently. Breakfast can be enjoyed at any time between 6 AM and 10 AM, allowing guests to choose the time that best suits their needs.

Gran Bili is a bed and breakfast in its most authentic form. It's not a bed and breakfast that is actually a hotel, nor is it a bed and breakfast that is actually an apartment. Gran Bili is truly a bed and breakfast, which was born just like the English ancestors did: when the children move out and the rooms remain. The stay includes overnight and a hearty breakfast. Kindness, familiarity, and professionalism are guaranteed. The large house that hosts Gran Bili also accommodates our family. The entrances to our apartment and the one dedicated to Gran Bili are separate, but we often meet each other as neighbors.
As a bed and breakfast, Gran Bili is not our main activity, but we have become very fond of it and take it seriously. My mother decided to become a Landlady years ago, more as a hobby than anything else, when both my brother and I moved abroad. Once she returned to Italy and restructured the house, I decided to continue managing Gran Bili with the same spirit and passion as my mother.
Gussago is located amidst the hills of Franciacorta, 8 km away from Brescia in the direction of Lake Iseo. It is an ideal location for visiting both the city of Brescia and the Garda and Iseo lake areas, as well as Franciacorta. The surroundings offer countless leisure opportunities of various kinds. Several walks can be taken directly from Gran Bilì towards, or even beyond, Lake Iseo. The old resistance paths, used during World War II, have also been traced in recent years. Walking directly from home, you can reach the beautiful sanctuary of Stella, along a path through vineyards passing by the panoramic church of San Rocco. The nearby towns of Cellatica and Rodengo are excellent starting points for routes inside the rich Parco delle Colline. A few kilometers from Gran Bili is the ancient Olivetan Abbey with its splendid cloisters. In fifteen minutes, you can reach the natural reserve of Torbiere del Sebino with its walks among reed beds and rich birdlife. Continuing for another ten minutes, you arrive at Lake Iseo and Monte Isola. Further North is Val Camonica, the archeological park of Capo di Ponte, and finally the Tonale Pass. In Gussago and throughout the Franciacorta territory, there are numerous wineries, many of which offer visits and tastings. There are also various food and wine itineraries and events. Regarding food, there are many taverns in the surroundings that serve various typical dishes, including the prince of Brescia cuisine, Lo Spiedo, which used to be served only in October and November, but now throughout the year.
For bike lovers, there are many more or less challenging bike routes to ride for all tastes and needs. It will be our pleasure to provide our guests with all the necessary informative printed material, as well as to happily recommend places and itineraries in person.
